Safeguarding

At Dive into Swimming, the safety and welfare of the children in our care is pivotal and stands as the number one priority as a business. In line with The Children Act 1989 and 2004 we are committed to creating a safe environment for every child associated with our swim school. According to the ‘Working together to Safeguard Children’ document published in 2018 the actions needed to safeguard children is as follows:

  • Protect from maltreatment.
  • Prevention of impairment to a child’s physical, mental health and development.
  • Ensuring children grow up in circumstances consistent with provision of safe and effective care.
  • Taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes.

Not only do we focus on safeguarding children within our establishment, but also safeguarding from any mistreatment that may be occurring outside of our business.

The following list includes examples, but is not exhaustive, of what we should be protecting our children from:

  • Physical abuse
  • Domestic Violence / Abuse
  • Sexual abuse
